Company car returning, which car?

I've landed myself a home working job (yay) so will be resigning from my job on Monday.

I've been driving a brand new Audi A3 S-line for 2 years, the last 12 months on mat leave (lucky me!)

So need to buy a car, criteria:

  • I have a 10 month old so big boot space
  • bad back so comfortable & option to have automatic
  • budget: can put down £1500 deposit, and willing to have finance up to £6/7k
  • economical as family live far away

Any ideas?

Also, how does your insurance work when you've had a company car, ie no claims bonus? I've not had an accident in 8 years but over 2 different lease company's.

"- I have a 10 month old so big boot space"

You put your 10 month old in the boot?! :-0

Ford mondeo. I know not as posh as an Audi but massive boot. Get a diesel one with 6 gears and it does over 60mpg. Dh has one, it's comfy and has been very reliable. Its won me over to fords so much that I now have a ford.

Other good option would be a vw passat but you would get something g a bit older or more milage compared to a Ford. Might be worth it though if you can get a good deal.

Only when she's naughty * Grin

Viva - Hadn't thought of a mondeo, I always think of fiestas when I think of Fords. My mum drove a Mondeo a few years back now and I drove it for a few months and really liked it. It's mossive too so get fit all my crap the buggy in it! Wink

I will miss the Audi but in fairness I was disappointed in it for a £21k car. If it was my money, I wouldn't buy one (not that I'd ever have the finance for a brand new car!) I think because of the s-line edition, it's sporty but bloody noisy on the roads and really uncomfortable to drive compared to my DP's basic Audi.
