I need a rear facing 3 wheeler. I'm finding it difficult to find any though, other than the Quinny Buzz (too big when folded and tricky to fold and no shopping trolley) and the Bugaboo (too expensive!). I have seen the Cosatto Phoenix Active on the Internet but not in any shops and can't seem to find anybody with one. And teh Bebeconfort High Trek but can't find any reviews. Can anybody help with any recommendations

bebecar do a 3wheeler - it probably does rear facing as all the others do. Have a look at their website - bebecar.co.uk and then youll need to phone them to find where your nearest stockist is.

Have you checked this out?

reggiemolly · 24/02/2006 16:46

thanks for the link. I have looked at it but none of the top ten listed ones have a rear facing seat unit. There is a bebecar one that faces backwards but its pretty expensive too (375 though might be able to get it cheaper on the internet, was hopign to spend under £300 ideally).

RM - bebecar sell around £100 on ebay and know I've seen a three wheeler on there. Though - I would find a retailer and go and try one in your car if it needs to be put in the boot - they look deceptively small but actually don't fit the boot of an average car.

reggiemolly · 27/02/2006 12:32

thanks for the recommendation. Does it fold easily? Will it fit in the boot of a Bora and do you know where stocks them, so I can try it out? Does Mothercare have them or John Lewis?

mothercare had them in the last catalogue, but i dont know if they are in the new one.they were £499 and this shop on ebay has them for £199 with the accessories.it comes in two parts to fold.weve got a people carrier and the boot space is quite small, but it still fits.(by the way,its me stephanie21,ive changed my name!!)

Hi. Stephanie doesn't seem to be around, so I'll chip in!! I have the Platon 3-wheeler as well, and I love it. But, it is heavy and doesn't fold down small. I had a Corsa and it filled the boot - truly. I had to take the rear wheels off to get it's width down enough (but that is very easy) and even then it came up as high as the parcel shelf, so there was no room for anything else at all, even the changing bag. The problem is that the seat unit comes off to fold the pushchair, so you have to fold the chassis and then lay the seat unit flat on top. In a car as big as the Bora you might be able to fit it in front-to-back, leaving the space next to it for shopping etc.

It really depends how you want to use it most of the time - I do mostly walking with it, so I can get away with it, and we have a cheap umbrella fold buggy for if I want to go on a bus or want to get buggy and shopping in the boot. Having said that, the umbrella fold buggy wouldn't fit in the Corsa boot either - I had to put the split back seat down and use it as a ski-hatch!!!
