I am a mum with a business head on my shoulders, :) i am thinking of/looking into making my own baby care products. Things like shampoo, moisturisers and soaps. Is there any parents out there who could give me some insight into what they would want/do? Maybe shed some light on what us parents are missing out on. Thanks everyone!

Wow. My first thought is that it isn't an area with a lack of products. Everything from Tesco cheapies to expensive organic type. To be perfectly honest I wouldn't want to use a home made product for a baby as I would be worried that it hadn't been tested to the same stringent standards as larger, more established brands. Good luck though.

I agree with the previous poster its not really a gap in the market, there are loads of things available including homemade/naturally type products already so possibly would go with something a bit more "different" or a more unique idea?

However if you are going for the shampoo, baby bath etc type of things then what I have noticed is that all the green/organic type of products hardly make any bubbles! so if you can make one which is organic homemade environmental etc etc but makes enough bubbles - then that is something I have not really come across. Also keeping the price reasonable cos some of the natural products you see are soooo expensive!

Good luck :)

I know its important products being child friendly, but do you think they need to be organic as well as natural? I understand your point 'yousankmybattleship' that mums would prefer an established brand but i hope one day i may be an established brand (big dreams!!). I am just wondering what i need to focus on, i understand that products must be functional, but id like them to be pretty too and look nice on the self. Do you think this is important? Functional V Fashionable!?
