calling all technical boffs!!!region 1 dvds.do they work here?

not very technically minded,so just wondering if region 1 dvds will work here.i know if you have a multi region dvd player then its ok,but how do you check if it is multi region?can region 1 work on the computer??

We have something called region free, I think it converts something. Sorry, not very helpful but if you google it it might help.

If you have specifically bought a multiregion player, you'd probably know about it.

Otherwise you can get "region hacks" off the internet. If you want help finding out if there is a region hack for your player, you could post on www.avforums.com, and some kind person will probably be kind enough to at least point you to a website, if not tell you exactly how to do it.

The other thing you need to know, I THINK is whether your TV has "NTSC playback". American TV format is NTSC, whereas ours is PAL, you might have noticed it on videos. I found out ours was in the TV handbook that came with it.
