If its a group 0 car seat the weight limit is 13kg, or approx. 9 months old. Most travel systems have group 0 seats (ours did).

thank you bad hair,i searched for a graco site and found that yes the weight is 13 kg but dd is only just over 10kg but is 13 months old so it's still okay to use it isn't it?

it is....even my big dh is even 13kg and he is 16 motnhs anf on 91st centile!!!
we got him a bigger seat at one year tho as he seemed wat too big....
he should in theory still be able to use his travel sysetem seat which is such a laugh as it is way too small for him to fit comfortably into!

My DD is justy over 9kg and she is 16 months old. If we leave the car seat on the floor she love to climb in to it and sits there for ages.

Yes it is fine to keep using it - the weight limit is the key, ages are very approximate and you can tell just on MN that there is huge variation. They are safer in reverse and dd was at least 15 months before we moved her as she was so petite.

Your DD also should be able to sit up well unaided for a length of time too. This means her back and nexk muscles are sufficiently strong enough to cope with a forward facing carseat.

dd can almost walk her self so is capable of holding herself up,we have a next stage 9months-4 years seat in my mums car but was wondering about when to get a next stage for exp car when she's in it,oh and yes she is quite tall but is very petite too. Thanks all who answered i thought the weight thing was most important rather than age just thought i'd ask to be sure.
