How often do you charge your Kindle?

Mine seems to be lasting shorter and shorter amounts of time between charges. I've had it for about 15 months, and at first it would last several weeks between charges, with moderate amounts of reading time. Now it seems to barely last a week, even if I've hardly used it. I keep Wifi switched on as I like it synced to my phone, but I have tried switching it off and it didn't seem to make much difference. It feels as though every time I pick it up the battery has gone again now. Has anyone else had this problem?

Have you got wifi/3g turned on? If so turn if off unless your using it. If I have 3g on, it lasts 3 days tops, but turned off, it can last weeks.

If it is turned off and still running down the battery, contact Amazon. Chances are they will send you a replacement free of charge.

Had mine for about the same amount of time. I charge mine about every week but I do listen to audio books on it quite often.

Sorry, just read your your post properly rather than skiming over it.

The WiFi does definitely run down the battery. But as I say, contact Amazon if the problem persists. I had a problem with mine where I got lines running through the screen. I contacted Amazon who rang me back straight away. Two days later, I had a brand new kindle, dispite it coming from the US. It was over 12 months at the time. They just asked me to return my old one, which they paid the postage for. :-)

Wish Apple had the same customer service.

I need to keep Wifi switched on in order for it to sync with my phone, I love being able to read a few pages here and there while I'm out. I only take it out of the house occasionally, so it isn't straining itself trying to connect to 3G. But I have always kept Wifi on and I'm sure it used to last a lot longer.

I've put it on charge now, going to make a note and see how long it does last, then next time I charge it I will do it with the Wifi off and compare.

x-posted. Hmm, the button on my Iphone is going too, I may be able to compare both sets of customer service soon.

I had to put my Kindle on charge today as it was moaning at me. I keep wireless off but read using a Kindle lit cover which should drain the battery. I honestly can't remember when I last charged it...maybe 3 weeks ago and I read a LOT. Mine is the same age as yours.
