They used to do a first Tiny Tears which was from six months and I am sure they do a first Baby Annabell too - think I saw it in Argos. I will go and have a quick look.

We would spend all our time trudging round the shops rather than chatting on Mumsnet.

Urchin (they have a website) do a lovely doll called Tidoo - quite pricey (£22.00)but really squishy and lovely and smells of vanilla. Yum.

I bought my ds, then about 15 months, a Peterkin (I think) doll from our local toyshop. It has a soft body and vinyl limbs and head and is much loved, also only cost about £5.00.

I also have a dolly dilema. Does anyone out there know their baby annabels and baby borns from their chou chous? I would like to get this kind of doll for my 4 year old dd for Christmas and would love some advice please.

Toys r Us do a range called You and Me which
start from birth, I think. Even the one from 9 months which we got dd last year has closing eyes, and magnetic hands, mouth and feet so it can suck its thumb or dummy and hold a teddy or rattle. There is also a range of clothes and accessories to add on later. dd had Tiny Tears for her 2nd birthday and loves her although not got her to wet or cry yet (tips appreciated !!) - no really small parts.
