And a bargain to boot.

Like the look of that. We've got one of those rabbit ones, which worked fine, except DD dropped it, and the hands are no longer attached, although the clock mechanism still works.

alliep30 · 21/02/2006 10:46

cod, you are spreading your gospel of good now i see....
bugger, i was going to make one of these and earn a fortune.

Belo · 21/02/2006 12:27

This looks great. I think this is just what I need!! dd1 came into our room at 1.45am this morning, convinced it was time to get up. Judging by the state of her room, she had been up, playing by herself for quite some time.

hockeymum · 21/02/2006 18:42

This looks fab. Think I am going to be really tight and make one though. Woolies do cheap clocks for a couple of quid so I might just colour the segments in myself.

Me? Cheap? Never!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 21/02/2006 18:45

What a fab idea.... might bookmark that for the summer.... not sure 19 months is old enough to understand

Belo · 22/02/2006 10:22

Excellent idea Hockeymum! I feel a trip to Woolies coming on.... Or, if I recall, Ikea used to do the plainest of plain black & white clocks which would be so easy to colour on. They were only about £2. Not so easy for me to get to Ikea though.

Your ds sounds very bright for his age Cod. Not sure Ds would get it, but it's worth a try i spose.

We have a nightlight and a timers. The nightlight comes on when DS1 is allowed to get up.

It works reasonably well, without waking him if he's properly asleep. This clock looks lovely, but wouldn't work for us as DS1's room is blacked out (velux windows, proper velux blackout blinds).

welshmum · 06/03/2006 12:43

If anyone wants one of these they need to get on to it soon. The company say they're not making anymore as there's a problem with a patent clash. They've got stock left currently. I don't think they're having me on as they were willing to send it out and only then do I need to send a cheque back to them.
Thanks for the tip cod

Surfermum · 06/03/2006 12:47

Wow! I am loving the clock already. DD is 2.9, has just moved to a bed and is waking at 6. It's a complete shock to my system as I've never been up before 7.45/8 since she was born!

Surfermum · 07/03/2006 21:07

I got a little wooden clock with a train on in a charity shop today for 99p! Am going to add the colours tomorrow, so watch this space ...

BethAndHerBrood · 07/03/2006 21:18

I like this idea, but might have a go at a d.i.y. version!! Cheap clock hunting tomorrow i think!!!

cod · 07/03/2006 21:19

'setting the Zones to that family’s preference'

Will DS really stay in bed until midday? Its a snip at £15.

Surfermum · 07/03/2006 21:25

I might paint the whole thing red and stick with "Red means Bed".

Piffle · 07/03/2006 21:26

I used to tell ds 7.30am wake up not before and on weekends or if Id tied one on that night, I@d go a fix his clock and put it back an hour ro so...
Bless him.......
but dd (3)is a top sleeper who will not get out of bed for any money Grin

Filyjonk · 07/03/2006 21:47

Re buying cheap clock and colouring in-we tried this but couldn't get the front off. Anyone know what we were doing wrong? Tried with a screwdriver and chisel and everything.

It would be nice to have a lie in. Til maybe 6.15 or so.
