What is 'My Clippings' for?

How do you use My Clippings on your kindle? What is it for?

Had my kindle for over a year and honestly don't know! Hopefully someone will be along soon to enlighten us both .

Is it for when you highlight passages in books?

Yup when you highlight passages they are saved in 'my clippings'. That's it really
