I am after a playhouse for the garden for ds (5) and dd (3). The cheaper the better, but needs to be delivered. Any ideas?

Wooden or Plastic?
What kind of size?

We went for a simple Little Tykes house for DD. Cost £139 from John Lewis.

We brought a normal 8x6 shed and the makers made the door into the split stable one. will last dd until she no longer needs it (planing on putting power to it for when she is older to run heat and lighting for those teenage years).

My parents bought a shed, (they look after dd when im, at work) and dad added a big shelf, almost like a lower ceiling. DD plays in the bottom part, with the new "ceiling" about shoulder height for adults. Toys etc are kept on the "attic" of the shed, and dd has a cosy room to play in down below. They spent a day last summer painting it, and put leftover lino down on the floor...dunno if you can picture what ive just described there? Anyway, it was more cost effective than buying a specially designed playhouse, and my family put their own touches to it.

We have this one
with 3 children and an assortment of friends each it is ideal, but appreciate you want a cheaper one than this !! i love the idea of just buying a shed and tarting it up in your own way, lovely times spent with the kids.

Thanks for your replies. I was thinking definitley wood, about 5 x 7 ft, and high enough to last them until they are older when it can be turned into a .......dunno really! I like the look of the one you have, Loobie.
