Know it's probably been done to death but can you recommend some good holiday reads please?

What sort of thing do you like?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 24/05/2012 09:40

Well, that's the problem, I don't really know! Last year I looked for a light holiday read and ended up reading the Ice Princess by Camilla Lackberg and some short stories by Oscar Wilde. Books I've enjoyed so far this year include the Help, the Woman in Black and a few by David Sedaris. Chick lit would be ok too, it is the holidays afterall Smile.

There's a new Kindle sale - although it's billed as a Jubilee sale it includes all sorts of stuff with more social history than normal. Stuart Macbride's first crime series novel Cold Granite is £1.99.

I quite enjoyed Pippa Wright, Lizzy Harrison Loses Control, still only 99p on Kindle (definitely chicklit)

For chick lit holiday reading I tend to go for Lucy Diamond and Tricia Ashley. I also read their books after an intense book as theirs don't require much thought to read. iyswim.

There's also a book called "The Library Book" which is lots of short pieces from various writers on why they love libraries and things like that, just 99p. Not sure if it's come down as part of the sale, it was already on my Amazon wishlist which I went through when I noticed there were a whole load of bargains coming up on my price drop monitoring site (www.ereaderiq.co.uk)

Just had a very quick look at the sale and bought August Heat which is Montalbano No 10. Have only read the first one so far but enjoyed it. Will have another look later.

More recommendations anyone? Smile.
