does the middle seat in the back come out or flip completely? ? how many ISOFIX is there in the car? how much boot space is there?

We had one until recently, it was 2002 model, so they have changed a bit now. All the seats in the back would fold up completely or could be removed quite easily. Don't know about Isofix I'm afraid. The boot is a good size, much bigger than in a people carrier, and can be made bigger by sliding back seats forward a bit if children have short legs still. Diesel engine surprisingly nippy, and economical, and we liked the double sunroofs.
We found the Multipla a fun car, but eventually got fed up with always having one of the children sitting between us on long journeys, and never being able to have a proper adult conversation.. The children loved it though, and are still cross with me for replacing it with a shiny new people carrier. HTH.

lilibet and MABS both have one - l's is the new unfroggy version, M's is the old kind.

Enid · 19/02/2006 17:51

They are a great car for the money. The diesel version is excellent. You can remove the back seats.

I am looking for a second hand, older 'bug' style one but no luck so far.

the only downside I can see is that they are quite wide and as I do a lot of country lanes, that will be hard to get used to.

Don't know about Isofix - the old ones I doubt have it, ring a dealer about the new ones.

misdee · 19/02/2006 18:25

it will be a new one if dd2 gets mobility (thats a big IF btw). it says on teh site ISOFIX on the rear seat but i am wodnering its the usual two outside seats or the more unusual all three seats (which would be fab!)

misdee, given the width of the thing it could well have 3 in the back.

'ang on, I'll check it out with 'onest John.

JanH · 19/02/2006 18:29

HJ no help re Isofix but did say "Removable rear seats with folding backrests", if that helps?

MABS · 19/02/2006 18:29

i've got 2000 one, or rather my dh uses it now since he bought me a sporty merc! I love the multipla and it's really easy to drive, and good for ds who has cerebral palsy. It's a bit wide but you get used to it very quickly. In mine i can take all the back seats out separately, is that what you need to know? sorry, bit thick with cars, just drive 'em! Tell me any queries and i'll ask dh tmrow.

misdee · 19/02/2006 18:32

is it easy to park tho lol.

i need the middle rear seat to remove by itself ideally so peter and his machine can sit comfortably. IF dd2 gets mobility FIAT is on my list to visit and test drive.

Picture here of the 3 back seats - 1 up, 1 with back rest down, 1 with whole seat folded forward.

They are 3 separate full-sized seats, misdee.

MABS · 19/02/2006 18:35

Its very easy to park, even for me and i rarely do reverse!! The visibility is good as there's so much glass in it. I'll ask dh about the middle seat as soon as i see him, but i think the answer is yes, it can come out by itself.

JanH · 19/02/2006 18:36

You can remove any of them individually, it looks like.

No Isofix on front row seats though I don't think (because a piece about the Honda equivalent says they improved on the Fiat by putting Isofix fittings on the middle front seat).

JanH · 19/02/2006 18:41

Aha!

SAFETY AND SECURITY

This is obviously a very important issue for all motorists today and the Fiat Multipla comes equipped with a host of safety features. Double front airbags, drivers airbag, and side airbags are all standard. All six seats have a 3- point seatbelt with pretensioners on the front three and isofix attachments on the rear three seats. On top of this is a Fire Prevention System, third brake light plus ABS with electronic brake distribution.

From here

Did you find a frog-coloured one, Enid?

expatinscotland · 17/03/2006 17:05

It is fugly, Enid. I saw one the other day as I was driving around and thought, 'What a fugly ass car.'

Enid · 17/03/2006 17:06

no

its silver - yawn, anodyne

really wanted a green one or a bronze one

but impossible and with baby due in 6 weeks was desperate

Enid · 17/03/2006 17:07

but the interior is purple Grin

JanH · 17/03/2006 17:08

You could add some nice green spots to it - that would be quite un-anodyne Grin

Enid · 17/03/2006 17:12
