Ds had this for xmas and he loves it. He played with it lots and then i packed it up and put it under his bed.

Today I got it out and the train won't work. We have replaced the batteries and checked all the screws are tight but when you switch it on it just makes a clicking noise.

Anyone know what I can do ?? Ds is not happy.

Our's was bought at xmas and just stopped yesterday. It worked fine with a new battery though.

nutcracker · 16/02/2006 15:57

I can't figure out what it is. I don't want to take it apart incase i make it worse.

Take it back nutty - at the price it costs it should be expected to last a lot longer than two monmths! There shouldn't be any quibble as long as you have proof of payment.

Nemo1977 · 16/02/2006 16:05

i agree take it back and if no joy contact tomy

nutcracker · 16/02/2006 16:44

Nemo1977 · 16/02/2006 16:51

take it instore if you can and print out your confirmation email?

nutcracker · 16/02/2006 16:51

Hmm will have to ask my brother if he still has the email.

if you have a bank statement that should be fine as well.
you don't have to have a receipt for faulty goods... but they may ask you for some kind of proof that it was purchased in their store.

Aero · 16/02/2006 17:55

With Toys R Us you should be ok. I have exchanged faulty goods (ds's birthday present from someone) there with no receipt. Just explain the situation and I would think they'll be happy to change it for you.

nutcracker · 16/02/2006 18:25

Have emailed toys r us, will let you know what they say.

nutcracker · 19/02/2006 10:26

Toys R Us emailed me back to say that they will exchange or repair if i have the delivery note, which i don't and neither does my brother.

Am going to try contacting Tomy instead I think.

surely they should have record of the order in their system if it was bought online? I work for an online company, and we have records of all the orders ever placed with us from we opened 6 years ago, and can always send new order confirmation emails, although not delivery notes. But surely seeing it in their system should be enough?

nutcracker · 19/02/2006 10:33

LOL have just tried different batteries and it's working. The other batteries must be duds.
