I already have a quinny zapp pushchair, but i am due no2 in Aug and i am trying to decided what to do!! To buy the maxi cosi car seat to match or to just buy a cheap travel system.

Has anyone had or have the quinny which they use with the maxi cosi car seat from birth? If so can you give me a type of review please? what you like what you don't like?

Haven't used it with a car seat, although have a zapp but did see someone using one the other day about town - looked pretty good, compact, manoeuverable, pretty much like the zapp itself. Obviously the usual lack of basket problem still remains and they don't take a buggy board so depends on how old your first child is.

the zapp with car seat is ok for qwuick trips out, but not shopping or days out. i have a thing about babies lying as flat as possible.

Misdee..So you think i am better going for a travel system? Really need to decide what to do, and don't wanna waste money if they no good iykwim. How long do you think the car seat with frame could be used for?

Thanks for this

the seat option can be used as long as the baby fits in the seat really. but then they are still too young imo to use the pushchair part as its doesnt recline.

best to buy a cheap travel system IMO, then move onto the zapp when baby is a lot older.

please bear in mind that the maxi cosy baby car seat does very well in the car crash safety tests....

make sure you dont get a cheap travel system that uses a not such as safe car seat!

Instead of getting a new travel system why not buy the maxi cosi car seat and a cheapish buggy/pram for little one. That way when you want the convenience of a travel system you have the zapp + car seat for short quick trips and the other (suitable from birth) pram/buggy for longer trips - better for the newbie's back and you'll probably be able to attach a buggy board for your elder tot??

You need a carseat whatever so may as well buy one that fits the buggy

Slightly hi-jacking here, but if you ahve a quinny zappa re they good? Will your little one sleep in it even though they don't recline. Thinking of getting one for 29 mo DS for travelling abroad.
Thanks

I used the Zapp from birth - with the maxi cosi car seat until 6 months. Dd is nearly 12 months old now. She sleeps in it fine. I did get slightly shot down on another thread for suggesting using a car seat as pram option as apprently some experts claim that it's bad for babies to spend long periods in car seats. Having said that dd was never in it for much more than an hour at a time anyway.

The mechanism for slotting the car seat off & on was a little stiff & awkward. I only used it becuase we lived in a 2nd floor flat at the time & it was easier to carry dd up & down the stairs in her car seat & keep the quinny frame in the car boot outside. If I'd been in a house at the time we probably wouldn't have gone for a zapp but bought some kind of travel system. Having said that I am quite fond of my Zapp, it's very light and manoevreable.

Sorry that's a bit of an essay!! HTH.
