I was shocked to be charged 50p a photo in Boots.

snapfish have a 10 prints free offer IIRC 99p postage

BonyM · 15/02/2006 13:29

A friend of mine always takes her to Asda. Think it's 10p a print and they are done while you do your shopping.

popsycalindisguise · 15/02/2006 13:32

asda - 100 photos for a fiver - one hour processing

popsycalindisguise · 15/02/2006 13:32

or it may be 50 for a fiver

mythumbelinas · 15/02/2006 13:37

i used asda before, 50 for a fiver, but i got matt finish not gloss .. maybe should have asked for gloss :S
Otherwise, when my dh can be bothered to take me, i prefer to go to costco and it's 7p per print

lahdeedah · 15/02/2006 13:42

Photobox is brilliant - great quality prints and fast delivery

click here to go to the website

Carameli · 15/02/2006 14:32

before you do have a look at the link I posted the other day. Panasonic are offering 50 free prints. I must get around to doing it myself as the offer runs out in March.

Crystaltips · 15/02/2006 14:46

ANother vote for Photobox ... you can also store your photos on their site - rather than take up valuable space on your PC

sandyballs · 15/02/2006 14:56

Photobox looks good, but I've no idea how to download my photos onto PC . My home PC is knackered and I'm at work, not sure if I should do that here really. So might have to send my memory card somewhere, do Photobox do that?

OP posts:
nailpolish · 15/02/2006 14:57

dh is an IT man and he thoroughly recommends photobox - but its not really worthwhile doing it for 1 or 2 pictures, you get your moneys worth if you have a bigger bundle you want to print off

lahdeedah · 15/02/2006 20:08

Photobox do accept photos by post - info here

Mind you I think rather than posting your memory card you would be better off going to a shop - Asda was recommended below. Use Photobox when your home PC is back up and running.

lahdeedah · 15/02/2006 20:11

forgot to say - it's really simple to upload photos onto your PC - your camera should have come with a lead which plugs into the USB port in the back of your PC - the manual should give you simple instructions.

lisafredsandcesca · 15/02/2006 20:15

I might be a bit sad, but i printed two identical shots at photobox and snapfish and without a doubt the photobox were far better - sharper, brighter, cleaner, more elegant borders - MUCH better all round....

lahdeedah · 15/02/2006 20:19

I have noticed that too! got some prints from Snapfish on the 1p per print special offer and they were rubbish. Will stick with Photobox from now on!!

cupcakes · 15/02/2006 20:23

All places other than my dh's small independent photo shop are c**p. Especially supermarkets.
But that's just my opinion.

zhouqi · 20/02/2006 11:44

Yeah, photobox does good quality prints, we use them a lot. If you are really seious about your image, you can also send them a colour profile.

The only thing I am not too impressed about is I have discovered they've put my public album available for sale to everyone. So if you don't want other people print your pictures, don't put them in the public album.

Kelly1978 · 20/02/2006 11:47

Carameli, I tried your link, ordered them, but once I went to checkout it was trying to charge me. I can't find out how to activate the offer.

yoyo · 20/02/2006 11:58

My Dad had excellent ones at Tesco.

1980cat · 20/02/2006 12:36

Jessops have alway been good. Tescos have got worse, used to been quite good but the last couple of lots I got from them were pretty rubbish. Jessops are the same price as well 100 for £7 (or they were a little while ago)

starshaker · 20/02/2006 12:42

i use kodak as thats what my camera is and they are fab cant remember how much they are though

Wallace · 20/02/2006 12:54

In places like asda and tesco can you take in a cd rom of photos and get them printed?

Elf1981 · 20/02/2006 12:58

At asda they have machines where you can print from the memory card, a cd, a floppy disc (or they did in 2004) and a cd rom. Plus they have a scanner so if you have an old pic but no negative / file, you can scan it and print it off.
They're really cheap too.
I either take mine to Boots (they get cheaper the more you have) so I can my advantage card points, or Asda as my mum works there.

SoupDragon · 20/02/2006 12:59

My Snapfish ones were fantastic quality! I can't (for some reason) upload to Photobox so don't use them.

Wallace · 20/02/2006 13:09

Thanks

Eulalia · 20/02/2006 19:13

Try Pixaco at www.pixaco.co.uk Very cheap and good quality. You can send them on a disc or download straight from your computer.
