Highback booster with harness for very tall (but light) 2.5yr old?!?

Hi,

DD is 2.5 & although is very tall for her age, she only weighs 24lb (10.6kg). She has almost outgrown her car seat - Britax Eclipse - height wise, which is meant to last until 4 years old. She cannot wear a coat in it, even with the straps on the highest setting - they look like they are pushing her shoulders down & I can only just get them done up.

She is far too light to go into a non-5 point harness seat, but looking online, all of the highback boosters with harnesses I can find seem to say that you need to remove the 5 point harness from 36kg/approx. 4 years old which is exactly what DD's current seat says. I'm concerned that the straps on these wont actually go any higher than the Britax Eclipse, defeating the object of changing seats.

I cant see DD reaching 36kg for a LONG time, way past she turns 4, but she seems to get taller by the day!

Any suggestions on good (safe) seats which have 5 point harnesses suitable for taller children?!?!?

Sorry to ramble, but I am v confused by all of the options!

You could try a seat with an impact cushion as then you wouldn't have a strap issue at all. The impact cushion does them up to 18kg as well.
