Can anyone recommend a good Canon compact camera?

My trusty little Canon has finally died :( I'd had it a fair while tbh and it is gets almost daily use, and lives in my handbag - no case, nothing - so it has done well. I think it's metal casing probably helped!

It was a Canon Ixus 90IS. I used it for photos and video, plus voice recording - for both school and personal use. I also have a Canon SLR but only looking to replace my compact for now.

I like Canon cameras, know how to use them, have been happy with them in the past, understand all the menu options, etc. so i am probably looking for another Canon.

But there are so many to chose from now! Although the prices have definitely dropped since I bought my last one.

Can anyone recommend any of the newer models?

I've got an Ixus (not sure what model) and I love it. Also, did you know that the pink ones are cheaper? I don't really like pink but I'm prepared to put up with it to get a bargain.

Yes, but really don't want pink. I don't mind entirely but not sure Dh would want to use it on the odd times he does!

It's actually my second pink canon (DH bought both of them as presents for me and he still "borrows" them).

For the same camera Ixus 130, 14.1 Mega pixel and £50 cheaper in pink I think - cost about £100 for the pink one. I suspect it's less likely to get stolen as well.
