Can I use my iPhone plug to charge my Kindle?

It looks like it should given that it is a plug with a USB slot on it but I am too scared to try (as I've only just picked the Kindle up!)

I swap mine around quite a bit, so if I am going on holiday I tend to take just one or swap the usb's around. Not sure if you are menat to though but it does work.

My Mobile charger works on my Kindle.

Not sure if you are supposed to do it, but my kindle doesn't seem to have come to any harm.

I use my mobile charger for my kindle and vice versa, plus usb charging from the pc. Works fine

If you think about it, both can be charged through a laptop can't you so they must be of a similar voltage?

I assume it's the same - instead of plugging the USB-iPhone cable into the iPhone adapter, I'd plug the Kindle-USB cable in. I"m planning ahead for my holiday when I don't plan on taking my laptop and am too miserly to fork out for a Kindle plug

As an aside, I just want to stroke it. It looks like a little baby next to the iPad :)

I love mine and do quite often stroke it. Have you got it any clothes yet? Mine has a fine red leather coat that is quite cool, until I saw a lovely apple green coat on another one. I have kindle clothing envy

And did you know you can get it a waterproof, just in case it rains or falls in the bath someone spills a drink near it.

It's fine, you can get generic USB-to-mains adaptors on eBay and suchlike, it's all the same thing.

Mine is wearing a purple canvas jacket at the moment :)

All I need to do now is track down all the iPhone adaptors I have! I know where one is but one is missing at the moment. I do have iPad ones but I know they are higher powered. Then I will be all set for my holiday (which is why I bought the Kindle). Not that I'm going away until July of course.

I don't like the look of the waterproof bags though. I will revisit that nearer holiday time I think!

I was wondering this same question about the chargers. And thank god you mentioned using the kindle cable on the iPhone plug, it didn't occur to me that they were different!

Having googled it, I was directed to an Amazon discussion board which says iPhone etc fine but iPad not a good idea. Just as I thought :)
