I want to give a friend something pampering for Christmas - she is pregnant and due to give birth next March. Can anyone recommend anything? I was thinking about the £10 mark.

Theres a nice Botanics pampering kit in boots for ten pounds, i love botanics stuff. It has candles face mask inscense etc. Or you could get a voucher for your local beaty salon, she could get something little done like an eyebrow shape.
I once spent ten pounds at a pound shop and the newsagents for someone. I brought intense hair conditioner, a magazine, candles, face mask and a mini baileys.

What about some pregancy massage oil or a luxurious bubble bath? Failing that what about a beauty voucher to put the money towards a manicure or something similar?

Would the botanics one be ok for a pregnant woman? - I know some aromatherapy stuff isn't recommended - I'm sure it would say on the box though. Thanks for these replies.

when i was 38 wks preg, my mate bought me....
a packet face mask
some emery boards and severeal cheap bright nail varnishes, heat magazine, a mini bottole of wine (you get them in asda - like one glass worth), packet of chocolate eclairs, bubble bath...etc etc
dont know if this is what you want but i loved it,,,,i did send her a hen night package in return from what i had in my cupboard,,,disposable knickers, maternity pads, raspberry leaf tea...not sure that she appreciated it as much as i did !!!

The Sanctuary do a lovely range of pampering gifts, the idea comes from the actual health farm in Covent Garden. Its available in larger Boots and I've bought it for quite a few people and they have loved it.

Lush? They normally have some nice things and the staff there will be able to tell what is suitable for during pregnancy too. I got some nice bath ballistics and some fresh skin products from there when pregnant.

Id aromatics in Leeds is very cheap and does fabby aromatherapy soaps. The staff can tell you about what and what isn't safe in pregnancy.

You might want to blow your whole tenner on a tub of Body Shop body butter, which is utterly fab for preventing stretch marks according to Dahlia and other experts. I would have loved some when pregnant.

I'd spend the whole tenner on a bottle of Peace Of Mind from Origins - it's the nearest thing to magic in a bottle that I've ever found but do check with the staff that it's ok for pregnancy. Origins are great for giving you a few yummy free samples with a purchase too.
