Bed Guard Problem

We have just moved our 2.5 year old into a normal single bed but can't find a bed guard or mechanism to use with it. All the fold down guards like the tomy don't work as the mattress sits inside the bed frame slightly, therfore preventing you sliding the bed guard underneath. We don't really want to screw anything into the outside of the bed as it's a nice bed and cost a bit!
Any suggestions or solutions? (apart from the pillow by the side)

We had the same problem and just put the cot matress by the side of the bed for a few weeks. I think he only fell out once and landed on the matress and didn't even wake up!

I've got a fold down one (BabyDan I think - the portable one) that works OK with a mattress that sits 'inside' a wooden bed frame. You can't fold it down at all but it fits OK and hasn't damaged bed frame at all.

We have the Safety1st one - sits inside the frame too. No problems.

Wondering if should give it up now he's 4.5!!!

Thanks for all the info. Will look into those options.

We have a tomy folding bedrail with a mattress that finds into a bed frame. It's not a great fit, but because it was a cheap mattress the mattress can be squidged up a bit so the rail will fit. Does the job and I wouldn't be without it yet as we frequently find ds pressed up against the rail!
