I wanted one that attaches to the visor or dashboard where I can reach it and they will be safe from getting stuff put ontop

I have cubby holes etc but other stuff gets put in them

RTKangaMummy · 10/02/2006 14:29

I have cup holders by the handbrake but when my dad gets in the car as he is mobility impared and 6'6" tall.

He leans right over to drivers side to get his legs in so my glassses need to be well out of the way.

My car has one built in just above the rear view mirror. Just what every car needs.

Davros · 11/02/2006 19:05

Mine too but I put my bottle ends in there!

dizzydo · 13/02/2006 22:31

I bought this absolutely fab non slip mat that sits anywhere on the dashboard (up to angles of 70 degress I think) and anything you put on it clings like glue. It is absolutely fantastic. It was £6.95p at a Homes and Gardens Christmas Fair and tomorrow I will go out and look at the box (which I have kept) and let you know how you can order it. I put my mobile and glasses on it and it stays stuck firm around corners and for sudden stops. Highly recommend.

RTKangaMummy · 13/02/2006 22:44

Thanks my DH got me one the same as the one I broke today

We were at the dealers and found that there is one that VOLVO make but DH had already got mine

And as long as I am not dim enough to break it it will be fine

that mat does sound DEFFO BRILL

dizzydo please still tell us about non slip mat - I put my sunglasses on the dash when the sun goes in (which it does a lot in Scotland), then they slide off as I career round corners with my eyes shut talking on the phone, eating my lunch and shouting at the children all at once, then I forget about them, then they fall out into a puddle as soon I open the door when I arrive at work so I have to grovel around under the car with my bum in the air to rescue them, while all the patients in the waiting room (I'm a GP) tut and stare and look at their watches a bit more... So you see, I really neeeeed one of those sticky mats

noticed the Landcruiser has an interesting false nose type thingy above your head...
I put my shorts and sunglass's on in March and dont remove them until October!

dizzydo · 14/02/2006 10:12

JMB you sound like me before the mat . Honestly I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Great also for putting on those annoying fold down tables on the plane when the kids are drawing, keeps all the pens together bliss.

I can't do links but I just typed "amiketto" into google and the non slip mat came up no problem. I paid £5.95 I think but I didnt buy it online so you might have to pay delivery - still worth it tho.

jmb1964 · 14/02/2006 23:22

Wonderful - have just ordered one from Maplin online (and a whole load of CDs and stuff too - free delivery if over £30 and saves me going into the shop and feeling as if I've landed on another planet. Thank you
