Help - can't access wifi with my kindle - says my password is wrong

What am I doing wrong??

When I got my Kindle at xmas it automatically accessed my wifi network and was fine and I could download books. Now it has stopped recognising it and when it asks for my password I type in my network key - that's right, isn't it? That's the only password I have?? - it says it's wrong!!

Can I change my password? How? Is this the correct password or did I choose one myself when I got my kindle? I can't remember! Thanks for any help!

Is it the password to your WIFI that you are entering? Only my Dad (81) had a similar problem recently and he was trying to put in his Amazon password.

Know its a bit IT Crowd, but have you tried completely turning off your kindle and wifi for a bit and then switching them both back on?

Thanks Julie- it is the Sky password I'm entering!! Might try turning them off. Cheers!

If you've not managed to log on yet, try the Amazon customer services, they are very good Smile.

I just had issues with this this morning. I tried doing a soft reboot but in the end it was a hard reset that fixed it (holding the power button for a looooong time until it went off and reloaded) and now my wifi is working fine. I was starting to panic (as i had just clicked a LOAD of free/cheapo books so had a lot to download).

Yeah, mine does do it sometimes too and its the full switch off that you need. Usually if I'm stuck though I have a look on youtube. Some very helpful geeks people have put up some fab instructional videos on there. Amazon customer service is also very good.
