Discount codes - how dodgy are they?

I'm about to do a La Redoute order and am tempted to use a discount code that would knock £25 off. I've had stuff from there before, so they obviously have account details for me - will they know it's not 'mine'? Will I be done for fraud?
Presumably people do it all the time, with all these sites that give the codes out?

some codes are personal and some aren't, if the former then you could i think be in the wrong using it and it may be picked up but if they are not unique then it's ok

Hmm - still not sure. I am a cheapskate but also a big wuss.

If you are ordering online then its all automated and I doubt anyone looks at the bill. If they don't want you to be able to use a code then its easy enough for them to specify that so that their website picks it up and tells you. If they don't do that then I would say its their problem not yours. If it works then use it

I think they would probably charge you the full amount if you were using a code not posted to you. I'm sure that's very rare though.

Agree with Katherine - I use these codes all the time, mostly for Boots, and if it's personal (and not mine) then I get a message saying code invalid - hey if you don't try you won't get

Turquoise-I used a £25 La Redoute code which I was kindly given by someoone on here and had no problems at all,so go for it.

I also use the Tesco codes all the time and get them from tescovouchercodes.blogspot.com which is really handy.

Hi tea.

Yippee - thanks all, I will go for it.
