Diamonds question

Anyone know roughly what diameter a .25 ct brilliant (round) cut diamond would be. Is there a sort of guide like 1 mm is .05 ct & 1.5mm is 10pts type of thing. I wasn't sure where to put this question but as it's something I know a lot of you will have & someone bought them thought I'd stick it in Products.
TIA

It can depend on the depth too though.

mine is just over half a carat and is about half a centimetre across

Depends on the quality.

sd is right though... it could be wide and shallow, or narrow and long...

you'll pay more for one that is a good shape though (ie, well proportioned)

SL what sort of setting is yours in then, claw set I imagine. I'm thinking of rubover and don't want the band too wide so was thinking .25 would be about 3-4mm wide, as they're usually a shallower setting.

yeah it has 4 small claws. your best bet would be to go to a local jewellers and see what kind of thing they have in store, just to get an idea of how big you want it
