Cargo bikes and bike trailers

I have two kids - nearly 2 and nearly 4 yo - and they are both quite tall and heavy for their age (upwards of the 90th centile on both). I would like to cycle them to pre-school/school and I'm trying to decide on the best option for doing so. I don't want seats, I'd like a trailer or a cargo bike but there is a massive price difference. I'd love to go for the cargo bike but at £1000 - £1500, I'm obviously a little hesitant! I'd go for the trailer but I'm worried about height/weight restrictions. Any advice, pointers, experiences?

hi, I have tried many ways to carry children by bike, as I run a business that imports a huge range of quality cargo bikes and trikes, but as you say they are £1,500+.

If your route is not too busy, you may like to try a couple of less expensive options. There is the follow me tandem and the add a bike, both allow your 4 year old to cycle and your two year old can go on the back in a normal rear child bike seat.

Otherwise look at the Motherbike range approx £550, which have been designed to take two children, and at least at the end you have a really beautiful Dutch bike.
Take a look at www.kidsandfamilycycles.co.uk

Hope this helps
