codswallop · 22/11/2003 18:20

codswallop · 22/11/2003 19:01
I am not so sure about Micro machines -a re they just heavily advertised at the mo?
Loobie · 22/11/2003 19:51
We got Micro machines stunt city last year and have the fire engine and rally mountain for this year,ds is 5 and these are a huge huge hit which pass many hours though i knew they would be as he played with the stunt city at a friends and was totally enthralled,be warned though the cars for it are really small so buy quite a few as the tend to disappear into the smallest corner never to be seen again.

Codswallop - wouldn't recommend the ELC race track - cars don't really stay on it very well and tend to fall apart - very annoying. Go for Scalextric - I think there is a junior one..? DH has on and dd loves it!
marthamoo · 22/11/2003 20:41
The best thing about Micro Machines is that they close neatly back into themselves for storage - very handy. All the small boys I know love them.
codswallop · 24/11/2003 18:12
really about the race thrack? should I return this and then get ds2 a fire truck Micro machines? they think that they slot together - dothey?
ALso recommnedations reqd for a cowboy gun /holster for 3 yr old.
codswallop · 24/11/2003 18:16
tell me more about scalxtric race track - they have to be able to errect it themselves...
kmg1 · 24/11/2003 18:27
Codswallop - my boys are 4.5, 6.5, and 36! They got a big scalextric set for Christmas last year. They do enjoy playing with it, and it was definitely worth it - dps got it for them as a big joint present, and they got the biggest set available. (Like lots of things it's much cheaper to get a big set than to add to a small set).
However, ds2 can't help set it up, and ds1 can't do it on his own. They also need supervision playing with it - the cars are fairly fragile. (I think it's supposed to be 7 yrs+). This is 'real' scalextric, but you can get 'micro scalextric', which isn't so fragile - I think. I hope dss will play with it on their own more this year, but should last a long time.

thanks - ok will leave that tilll htey are older then - no penny racers at yours?
kmg1 · 24/11/2003 19:18
No, no penny racers at ours, or micro machines, or large size turtles. So can't comment.
kmg1 · 26/11/2003 20:42
Has anyone else other than Loobie seen the Micro machines? Must admit in catalogue appear to be a great concept! I thought I'd done Christmas shopping, but have just checked and basically all I've got is stacks and stacks of books The boys will like these, but I'm sure will feel it is their right to have some plastic too - so I'm trawling the threads for some inspiration!
(DS1 - 6 - has just told me he knows FC is not real: so I have to accept responsibility for the choice of presents )
codswallop · 30/12/2003 08:59
