Storage - I know exactly what I want - can you find it for me?

Your mission should you choose to accept it, is to find storage for Lego for me. (We have masses.)

What we want is something very large and shallow, with some compartments in, with a lid, and preferably plastic or wood, not fabric.

Currently the Lego is in 3 underbed storage things similar to this (but a lot cheaper as they came from Netto!)

We don't need to have something so deep, but similar sized units to fit under the bed would be great; but with 3 or 4 compartments. (I don't want to end up with 30 smaller boxes!)

I've looked at Argos, Ikea, and Lakeland; and can't find what I want.

Apologies Roisin for hijacking your thread.
I'm looking for something similar in rattan or that type of thing for under my bed but for linen storage so preferably lined & not expensive (don't want much do I )
If you spot it & think 'not that good for Lego but good for bedding I'd appreciate it too'.

Where are all the vicarious shoppers tonight?

Jbck - Ikea

Roisin - Hmm... might you be better looking for ways to partition the larger underbed boxes? It might be more practical in the long run.

There are these which can take a lid but are only about foot deep so probably too small. They can also be drawers in variously configured frames.

this ?

roisin · 30/01/2006 20:09

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Does anyone know of anything bigger?

Similar to this?

roisin · 30/01/2006 20:30

OOh that might work Bubblerock. Thanks!

Or dedicated Lego storage here (though not for under the bed).

roisin · 30/01/2006 20:43

I've seen that in the catalogue JackieNo, and wasn't convinced. Do you have it? Has anyone here got it? Does it work?

(It isn't very big is it?)

JackieNo · 30/01/2006 20:47

No, sorry - haven't seen it in RL, so not sure if it really does work. I'll keep looking...

The lego box looks cool. What is the maximum height and do they need lids?

It might be cheaper to actually get a joiner to make them for you. It would be a pretty simple DIY project for an enthusiastic amatuer though. Ask around and see who hasn't managed to use the black and decker they got for Christmas yet. That way you can get a perfect fit.

plastic crate, with divider (I think).
Totally unrelated but I thought it was cool, kiddy bus .

JanH · 30/01/2006 23:44

What about getting a whole lot of those boxes used by anglers and/or handymen, with divided trays that lift out?

Large angler's tackle box (for large anglers? Doesn't give dimensions unfortunately.))

assorted tool boxes

bag with 6 trays for craft stuff

moondog · 30/01/2006 23:48

Is there someone who can make you one?
We have a fab builder (friend and neighbour) who inteprets all my nifty ideas.

Skribble · 30/01/2006 23:52

is this a bit OTT?
