do you know about cars? i really need some help...

we've pretty much decided that the VW Sharan is the car for us. I saw this one but dismissed it as only 1.4

but when I spoke to the guy at the VW place he said that althouigh it's a 1.4 it still gives you 160bhp
now, according to the manual for my volvo v70 that is 163 bhp, but has a 2.4 litre engine

I have NO idea really what any of this means... will a 1.4 engine be enough? he said it's to do with efficiency of new engines and things like that, but I don't really understand

yeah tbh there are not very many sharans around full stop round here anyway.
we've decided definitely against the 1.4 petrol for pretty much the same reasons as you...

we have also, sadly, come to the conclusion that we cannot get the car we want for the price we want, so we're now looking at older versions of the sharan, which is a shame as we won't get the sliding doors or the extra storage space but unless some money magically falls into our hands that's just tough! am sure we'll manage

alternatively I guess we could wait for a year or so until they've dropped in price a little bit, but i'm not sure it'll make a huge amount of difference
