We had something similar to this , made by Graco but older model.
Fits through most shop doors, folds down well, plenty of room in seat for chunky toddler with winter coat, and folds down small enough for car boot. Ours even went in the boot of my mum's Fiesta with room to spare, albeit on it's side with the parcel shelf out.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, buy secondhand - you can pick up bargains from ebay and local papers and they hold their value so you can sell them on, and with one child at 21 months you'll probably only get a year's wear out of it at most.

In my town double nippers are popular as they are only77cms wide (fit through standard doorway) yet weigh only 21lbs.I am getting one!

We just bought a mothercare hoxton . Its quite light, goes on busses, the back fully reclines, about as good as you're going to get at that price, tbh.

I think its fine, not great but the best double we could actually find in the shops (very tempted by Marco Sky but really really wanted to see + try before buying). We have a 22 month gap, ds is 2.5, dd 6m . I've been driven to buying a double cos I just can't manage the two of them any other way. The hoxton will go on the bus, thats its main advantage for me.

We did have a Phil and Teds which was great til 6 months but I don't like it in the toddler configuation-the babys head is at traffic fume height and they can play with the wheels. So we'll probably ebay it.

Disadvantage of double imo is that the kids can hit each other. Also can't get on busses so easily.

Tandems don't tend to have 2 reclining seats though so problem if your ds still has a nap.

As YG says... lighweight, folds small, just an all round FANTASTIC pushchair. There is only 15 months between my 2 but really pleased i went for the aria

Best pushchair i've ever had is the double nipper. Its a doddle to push even uphill, all my friends love pushing it. It fits through standard door way, it lies flat for a newborn. The wheels come off if they get muddy, it has a brake for walking downhill.would have another one of these anyday rather than an aria - sorry jarm and yorkiegirl. (but i hate our aria) think you would too if you push the nipper.

I have a Marco Sky.... love love love it! Good if you're tall. A bit heavy and has solid wheels. Fabulous for buses and narrow doorways. Folds down reasonably small as well.

I also have a RedCastle Shop 'n' Jog. Side by side double, wide and bulky to store, but incredibly lovely to push. I don't realise that I've got 2 in it. Goes uphill like a knife through softened butter. Has a disc brake and a wrist strap. The DTs love it.
