Landrover Discovery- what car seat?

We have just bought a Landrover discovery.
It is an older one with a lap belt in the middle.
I have put my Britax Freeway seat in the middle, (as recommended on Britax site) but it moves from side to side a lot.
I'm sure this can't be right.
Anyone got any recommendations for a seat that would fit better?
It could go in the middle or at the side, but as the wheel arches stick up, some seats won't go at the side very well either.
Has anyone got a Discovery and solved the problem?
Thanks, Debbie

hello again!

we've got a disco and we use a britax super cruiser for the middle seat and it doesnt move around. are you sure you are tightening the lap belt up enough?-it is quite tricky. our britax seat also fits at the sides and my daughter has just got one of those cheap polystyrene seats, it doesnt move about

Hi there.I have a super cruiser as well as my Freeway, but we only have a lap-belt in the middle, so we can't use it there.I have tried it at the side- it's ok, but as I need to fit 3 kids in, it isn't ideal cos you lose a bit of space at the side near the door.

Your seat should not move at all. Try calling your local council and talk to the road safety officer, many councils hold special 'try before you buy days' where you can take your car down and they will tell you if your seat fits and how to fit it correctly. If it does not fit they will fit lots of different seats and tell you which one is best. my saftey officer told me not to rely on info on britax site as cars can be different, he had two identical cars on the same day, same make, model and same year and he could not get the same britax seat to fit in each car as one car had a slighty shorter seatbelt.
good luck

whoops just realised didnt mean the super cruiser thats the one my dd uses at the side seat. The middle seat is a britax club class extra!
