goodness me are they still around? I usd something similar in the 1980's. got a ringlet effect if I'm not mistaken. I was only a girl though then!

My mom used to do my hair in rags but not ones like those.

Just wondered if they were any good really. My hair doesn't tend to curl very well with normal curling tongs.

Cheap version, make simillar shapes with tin foil and use in damp but not too wet hair, some kind of spray or mouse will help too. Use a hair dryer once you have them all in to heat up foil and dry hair. Or if you have one of those silly hood attachments that would work a treat .

Get ceramic tongs and use less hair each time

Hmm that sounds a bit complicated for me, I am crap with hair
