Ordered my camera 11 days ago now (2-3 day dispatch supposedly!!!), still no camera.

You can't email them, just call a premium rate number for customer "services".

Just got through now.. apparantly it is now out of stock (many in stock when I ordered), they have no idea when it will be in.

Yes, they were the cheapest site, but I would warn everyone else to avoid them - just pay a few pound more and actually get your items!!!!!

Oh, just checked the site, and they are still showing up as in stock.

Will take 5 working days for my refund, and I can't order a new camera anywhere else until I get it as we just don't have the money.

In the meantime, I just have to hope this baby stays put, or we will have a new child, and no way to photo it.

Sooooo soo and !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. Bought a camera a couple of weeks ago and a case separately. Camera fine, case had the plastic clip attaching the strap to the case completely sheared off. So clearly no good. Sent it back asking for another one and got an email saying "we are evaluating the damage, then an email the next day saying "the case is fine so we won't send you another one, we will just refund." Which means I had to pay to post it back to france (which they don't refund) and have no case. Tried to complain and I can't find any way of emailing or talking to them, and since case only cost 9.99 I can't be bothered, which I'm sure they know.

But I hope my camera doesn't go wrong, I clearly won't get any joy from them. Stay away! Go to Jessops or John Lewis or pretty much anywhere else.

I haven't, but thanks for the warning!
I bought my camera from Amazon last year and the delivery and service was excellent.

Gillian76 · 24/01/2006 10:04

Flamesparrow, I bought a didtal camera from them earlier in the year and they were fine. for you!

But I also bought one for my sister as a wedding present in July from Jessops. I scouted around for the cheapest online price and then printed the offer out. Jessops matched the price. I just wanted them to have somewhere "physical" to take it back to if there were any problems.

Might be worth a try?

PrincessPeaHead · 24/01/2006 10:12

but gingerbear the supplier to amazon of cameras is ...... pixmania!

but at least if you order it through amazon I guess you should be able to complain through amazon. I don't really know.

Gillian76 · 24/01/2006 10:14

Oh and the camera from Pixmania came with the manual in French!

Thankfully we've figured most of it out by trial and error!

Flamesparrow · 24/01/2006 10:16

Oooh, I hadn't thought of a price match type deal - if I got it in the actual shop too, then there isn't the postage issue either!

Gonna look into that!

What with my camera, and my nappies have been held up too, having a pretty ARGH day!

We had problems with pixmania - they sent our camcorder to the wrong person (got a bizarre random phonecall one morning form a bloke in Belgium saying he'd been sent our camera by mistake!!), sent us an MP3 player we hadn't ordered and the customer helpline people we crap - we told them about the MP3 player & they said they'd collect it, didn't, then accused us of stealing it!!!!

Avoid like the plague!

Got my camera from there and it's great, and no problems but the same problem as Gillian76 that the manual was in French. Luckily you can get it on the web, but too many pages to print out.

I've always bought from them without any problem. The only thing is that you normally get a European charger with the cameras and not a UK one! Jessops aren't so good at price matching any more but it's always worth a try. Also, if memory serves me correct, Pixmania have a shop in London if that helps.
