getting a double buggy now? ds is 3.3 and dd 20 weeks, but ds doesn't seem to want to walk very far since dd's arrival, wonder why??!! Anyway, would like to get out on more long walks, have TONS of weight to lose (sob), but would it be worth the £ to get one now? If so, which one would you recommend?

TIA

unless you just bought a really cheap 2nd hand one, and you could maybe resell it later

what about a buggy board

NotAPooEatingZebra · 23/01/2006 14:37

get a cheap double buggy in local ads.

threelittlebabies · 23/01/2006 14:37

I was afraid of that

dh says buggy board will not fit our hateful pram (I really hate it). Will probably have a look in exchange shops. Thanks!

buggy board would work

if you want to lose weight, get one of those tandem ones (Graco) where they sit behind each other - a few long walks with one of those and you'll be shedding the pounds!

NotAPooEatingZebra · 23/01/2006 14:42

don't you need to be really tall with buggy board?... I couldn't comfortably reach around it. Else I ended up half-bent over (very bad for the back). Friend's tall DH kept kicking it when he tried to use it, though. PItA, ime.

Side-by-side buggies better for pushing when walking long distances & not destroying your back, btw, ime...

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 23/01/2006 14:44

don't need to be tall with a buggy board - I'm 5ft and managed with a tall 3yr old on it.

nailpolish · 23/01/2006 15:01

yes im 5' too

i got a litaf buggy board which you dont hit your legs off as much, and child can sit down on

Meanoldmummy · 23/01/2006 15:10

I've got the Graco tandem where they sit one in front of the other...ds1 3.4, ds2 16mths - i's like pushing a train

Didn't buggy boards get withdrawn due to safety concerns? That's what Mothercare told me. I really wanted one.

SqueakyCat · 23/01/2006 20:04

waste of time.
Buggy board does the trick
I'm 5ft and have no probs with ours.
I reckon you'd be better getting a new buggy + buggy board than a double buggy.
We have a 2yr age gap and I never used a double buggy.
I got it from kiddicare. Big faff to fit, but i'm really happy.

BosworthBear · 24/01/2006 07:18

Where are you threelittlebabies, welcome to my double but postage probably makes it to expensive?

cathyspam · 24/01/2006 07:42

i have the graco tandem one too - got it new for £80 from Glasgow Pram Centre - the are both comfortable in it but it is pretty heavy to push with my 2 chunky little men in it! Good for losing weight though!
