And one more question - Vented or condenser tumble dryer?

Cos we have a vent available here, but I hate this house and hope to move sometime.

If I'm buying an expensive machine with a long life, it'll need to move with us. May not have a vent then.
Are condensers more expensive to run? are they more bother?

I recently bought a bosch condenser, it is in a big cupboard in dd's bathroom and it is brilliant. I was rather sceptical about them but I really do find it brilliant.

One tip, get one with the emptying thing at teh top, some of them you have to scrabble around on the floor which I would find a PITA.

I've had both, and would NEVER choose a condenser over a vented if I was able to vent. They tend to take longer to dry, don't dry as well, leave the room all steamy, and can be a pain to empty (and it was a fairly good condenser that I had!).

I love my vented dryer!

Hmm, I have had both and I can't tell the diff. Mine is in a cupboard in the bathroom and it certainly doesn't make the room steamy, seems to take no longer to dry and is very easy to empty (as is right next to the bath)

Vented use less energy than condensers. Bosch WTA4409GB is the one I have recently bought from 365 electrical for £280ish One of Which? best buys. Very quiet and quick.
