Can it really be used from day 1? Looks so big even on a small mini setting! Do I need a Moses basket for a few weeks? Was thinking my Bugaboo cam basinet will be find for day naps and place the baby in the stokke for the night or is this just a daft idea?! Due any day and all of a dither :)

i have 3 dc and each have gone Moses Basket (around 6 weeks), mini stokke, maxi stokke (til bed around 2 ish - none so far converted to toddler bed as needed for next baby)

However, I am not sure that you actually really do need the moses basket stage. I reckon they would be fine in the mini stokke staright away, maybe with the bumpers to make it cosy (I never had them).

On the other hand, moses baskets are pretty cheap - you don't need anything fancy and could even share the bugaboo mattress? They make pretty good laundy baskets later too [laugh]

One thing I did find though was that it is better for them to have most daytime naps in the same place they sleep at night for good sleeping habits - some would say you shouldnt leave them alone but I found this ok with breathing and sound monitor. Although in the early days they mainly nap on you (slings, cuddles) or out and about (car seat, pram), so I dunno - you probably could just have the mini in your room as a moses basket from day one (it is not actually that much longer than a moese basket - just wider).

Dunno - I haven't really helped have I?

With ds1, we used a Moses basket followed by mini stokke, but he hated the basket so much we didn't use it for long.

We bought a hammock for ds2 but he hated that so into the stokke he went. The mini can be wheeled from room to room which is handy.
