O.k so i've narrowed it down to being either a henry or a miele as my new hoover.

will probably be just the basic one of whichever i choose BUT , which do i choose???

Henry is about £80 and miele about £100

can't believe i'm actually wieghing this up, usually just get whichever i can find in asda!

so, can anyone be of help?

All i will say is that i love my Henry

Prufrock · 22/01/2006 13:55

Henry Henry Henry. I (and my kids) love him.

Potty1 · 22/01/2006 13:57

festiveface - my dad runs his own business selling/repairing hoovers.

He loves Henry, despite them being bad for business - they very rarely need fixing.

He doesn't sell Miele but says they are German built and hence don't break down often either.

He would buy Henry over Miele but only because he is so familiar with them.

Irrelevant to you but he hates Dyson!

ofcourse pruni it all depends on how loved the henry was previously to how well it will perform now

festiveface · 22/01/2006 14:58

oh pruni has confused me now !!

Don't be confused-Henry is great . Much much better than a Dyson IMHO

mazzystar · 22/01/2006 15:02

love my henry

MistyEyed · 22/01/2006 15:02

Sorry but I do not like my henry. Yes it does a good job but is very heavy & difficult to drag around. Miele any day!

spacedonkey · 22/01/2006 15:07

I love my henry - it's the best hoover i've ever had (and I've had dysons). Really well made, huge capacity, good suction and you do find yourself talking to him

trace2 · 22/01/2006 16:00

henry just got it and its fab

tassis · 22/01/2006 16:46

potty1 - why does he hate dyson?

i want a Henry next time.

Potty1 · 22/01/2006 17:43

tassis - he says they're unreliable and that their Customer Service is nothing of the sort! When they first came out they were very happy for him to sell them but didn't want anyone to be agents to fix them, making the parts very difficult to get hold of. That's much better now I think but he holds a grudge .

spacedonkey · 22/01/2006 18:08

A lot of professional cleaners use Henrys. And builders too.

bensmum3 · 22/01/2006 19:31

I have also been looking for a new hoover,so have every sympathy festiveface, I have seen lots of good things written about the Henry on MN.I think i'm convinced myself this is the one I should buy,( had a dyson which I liked but is now on its 3rd breakdown).
My question (sorry to hijack) is should I go for the standard, xtra or hound ? both dd and myself have long hair which seems to get everywhere and I need a hoover capable of removing it.

PeachyClair · 22/01/2006 19:56

MIL had 75 Henrys (Ok she IS insane and an OCD type, but the reason was she had her own business at that point of cleaning contractors.) and she still swears by them, is that a food enough recommendation?

trace2 · 22/01/2006 20:18

bensmum3 i got henry hound, green one with pet hair attatment, because we got a dog and dd is so long it gets stuck to carpet, but now we can see the floors its great

cece · 22/01/2006 20:37

I love my Henry too after suffering with a dyson for 5 years...

daisy1999 · 23/01/2006 13:27
