Best own brand nappies?

Hi, I'm currently using pampers for my nine week old DD but looking to save some money, though obviously want the best dryness possible. Are any of the own brand nappies as good as the branded ones?

lidl are very good

FizzyMakeFeelNice · 29/01/2012 13:50

Asda and Lidl IMO

Ineedacleaneriamalazyslattern · 29/01/2012 13:52

Yep asda and lidl and I've tried them all.

Faverolles · 29/01/2012 13:53

Asda are better than pampers and huggies IMO.

kefybaby · 29/01/2012 13:54

Aldi, any day (as long as we can find the right size - they fly off the shelves too quickly for my liking). I find pampers really flimsy compared to the aldi nappies.

ReduceRecycleRegift · 29/01/2012 13:55

Lidl, not a fan of aldi's nappies but lidl are best I've used of own brand or branded. Branded nappies are pants Grin you're just paying for the brand.

bamboobutton · 29/01/2012 13:56

i like lidl, asda and sainsburys own brand best.

i've been using pampers as they were the only nappies available at the late night shop near us and i have had no end of poo leakages, never get that with the own brand ones.

ReduceRecycleRegift · 29/01/2012 13:56

just to add my LO is quite short and Aldi nappies are too long and hang down in the middle on him, so a longish child might suit them?

Sluttybuttons · 29/01/2012 13:57

Tesco. All 3 of my children have used them and not because i didnt want to pay more, just because they were the best i tried

theonewiththenoisychild · 29/01/2012 14:00

Asda little angels are very good better than pampers by miles

Atomant · 29/01/2012 14:06

Switched from pampers to tesco after pampers kept leaking at night. Tesco are so much better and half the price which is a bonus!

luckysevens · 29/01/2012 21:29

Thanks, sounds like they're all good and different ones suit different babies then. I'll use my supply then start trying some of the others. I notice no one has recommended Boots though.

Sainsburys are good. We don't use Boots, purely because the others I can pick up whilst I'm in the supermarket. We did use them in the early days and they were good when DS was tiny.

I didn't get on with Morrison's at all.

neverinamillionyears · 29/01/2012 21:41

Boots ones were good for my dd as a newborn as they are a bit shorter in the body. Dd was dinky. I now use tescos as she has grown a fair bit. Pea soup poo still manages to leak.out the sides on.occasion though. Ho hum.

Blackduck · 29/01/2012 21:46

Boots here, way better than anything else I tried..

Abcinthia · 29/01/2012 21:50

I really liked Asda and Sainsburys nappies the best.

I bought Boots ones a few times and they were quite good as well.

sammysamsam · 30/01/2012 20:15

lidl for sure

MollyintheMoon · 30/01/2012 20:34

I used Tesco. They seemed to be the only ones that didn't leak, unlike Pampers and Huggies. Not tried some of the others mentioned here though.

HypatiaTheProcrastinator · 30/01/2012 20:39

Lidl nappies are very similar to Huggies in my opinion. But at £5.30 for 50 size 4s they're much better in price. I buy these if I can't find my usual 10p per nappy deals.

I also really like Sainsbury's Eco nappies, but they're not as cheap as Lidl most of the time.

battherat · 30/01/2012 20:41

Lidl are amazing. Morrisons are dreadful.
