how to remove blu tac from carpet?

We have a small patch of blu tac on our living room carpet. Have tried picking it off and washing it off. Any ideas what might remove it??

Perhaps like chewing gum you can freeze it, so unless it will fit in your freezer put ice cubes in a poly bag and put on bluetack for a while, this should make it more brittle and easier to pick off, I usually end up with nail scissors too ..
