car feels like it pulls slightly

hard to explain but it feels like a glitch in the power and sort of pulls, not badly but enough to notice. it's ok when foot on accelorator

1999 ford focus, hoping it won't get worse for a while, any thoughts to what it can be? have tried googling

Oh, and I have no idea if they mark up the price of parts. We haven't used a garage, well, ever. (dh fixes aircraft so cars are easy)
