So Little Touch Leapads DON'T survive a wash....

Got it a year ago.

DD decided to "wash" the buttons with a very soggy sponge a week or so ago. I dried it best I could, left it downwards over a radiator to finish drying out, and all seemed fine... it was working ok again.

Today its not registering the buttons

I'm thinking that they won't take it back if it is dead due to bathing... (and they tend to spot these things when they take them apart... I remember the nice people at nokia saying that you could see the corrosion from where it had been dropped in the glass of water after me swearing it "just stopped working" )

You can always claim ignorance when they say "but it's been washed madame."

Alternatively, you could take it apart, polish up all the connections for the buttons with a soft cloth and see if that helps.

"Don't be absurd sir, its electrical - why would I wash it???"

Think I might go with the taking apart method (while DH is at work, if he gets his hands on it it will be "upgraded" to be able to make tea and coffee, and never work again )
