What would you recommend for a toddler living in Hackney?

Knitting your own yoghurt? Self-defence classes? Sorry, sorry, your question sounded like a joke. Is Hackney particularly relevant? Grin

Those ones with the little backpacks seem popular, and cute.

I already weave lentils. I don't have time to knit yoghurt Grin.

I live in Hackney (Newington Greenish) and was wondering whether there are reins that are better suited to an urban environment rather than a rural one, say.

And yes, she is a PFB so I don't know these things.

I saw a toddler with a backpack one with a little shark fin on it, in Clissold Park, only yesterday. It looked very suitable. I wonder if they do them in Born? Have not been in there for yonks

i use the ones that are like a little back back with a handle on a strap, and have used them when when in london (in norwich but get the train to london fairly frquently) they seem fine, they strap on and they can keep a drink, small toy, spare nappy etc inside them :)

It doesn't matter where you live. Just choose something that suits you both and keeps your child safe. There isn't such a thing as rural or town reins.

Good to know that it doesn't matter where you live re: reins.

Thanks everyone. OriginalJamie, Born is lovely and on Mondays, it has Mothers Talking from 2-3:30. Naomi Stadlen who wrote What Mothers Do runs it. I'd recommend both the book and the group.

It's a nice resource. Mine are a lot older now, but we got some lovely silver cufflinks for DH with their finger prints on
