one that's relatively compact such as a
McLaren

Nemo1977 · 18/01/2006 19:51

if your looking for compact what about the new one mothercare does that is a bit like marco sky as long as one of kids is 6mths plus.

mummytosteven · 18/01/2006 19:53

Well so far you've had me who has never had to buy a double buggy, and Nemo who never gets the bus advising you

Will you have to fold the buggy up at all to get on buses?

champs · 18/01/2006 20:13

lol mts!! hope not to fold it for bus really as have 2 little uns to hold plus buggy, ds1 could carry ds2 if needs be but if on way to get him he wont be there.

if i get a cab it will have to fit in diff car boots.

hiya nemo!! how are ya? off to look at mothercare site

Nemo1977 · 18/01/2006 21:23

hi champs im ok thanks
how are you doing? was the mothercare one any food?

starlover · 18/01/2006 21:27

you can't put a bus in a double buggy

MarsOnLife · 18/01/2006 21:30

Marco Sky, every time. The bus drivers smile at me when they see that there are two in the buggy.

I would imagine that little man is now packing for uni and the wee one is taking his A levels about now Champs! tsk tsk

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/01/2006 21:30

ive had my M&P twin aria on a bus..... very like the mothercare duolite. HTH

Angeliz · 18/01/2006 21:31

pmsl Starlover, that's my kind of funny!!

Angeliz · 18/01/2006 21:33

Oh just had a look at Marco sky, love the fact that the back seat is higher so the baby can see out. That's what always puts me off tandems.

sweetkitty · 18/01/2006 21:35

hey JARM my twin aria is upstairs awaiting DD2's arrival thanks to your recommendations even fits through living room door so shop doors should be easy.

Have my eye on a Marco Sky too for the summer!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/01/2006 21:38

SK - FANTASTIC!

Hurry up BABY - one down (Hinker), jsut you to go! (Do you want some newborn baby bits? Got a few bits that Becky just never got to wear if you are interested)

MarsOnLife · 18/01/2006 21:38

I love my Marco Sky.

It is so practical. It's not as light as some of the buggies, that's cos it has solid wheels. That would be the only thing that I would change. The wheels would be air filled, cos they push really easily and well.

I can get into the smallest shop with it. DT2 loves looking out at people and gave up his fascination with DT1's hair a long time ago.

Love it love it love it love it love it!

(I have been told that the wheels can buckle if bashed on kerbs etc, but it has a little step bit, you step on that and the buggy tilts so that it can go up kerbs easily....phew!)

sweetkitty · 18/01/2006 21:41

I know JARM need to get this baby out soon!

Thanks but I have way too much for DD2 as it is as I have all of Abbie's stuff plus I have been buying again (can't resist it) and she'll probably get loads too.

Do you have the M&P footmuffs I was thinking of buying them but they are £90 for 2 but I will need them as we are in Scotland so it's always cold and wet!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/01/2006 21:44

not a problem hun,

Ive got 1 footmuff, really wanted another but cant justify it - so Jess goes without! I want to get buggy snuggles for them both ideally, so will probably have mine going spare soon, but ive looked on the M&P website and they dont do the one ive got anymore. You may be better going for matching buggy snuggles - kiddicare have got them

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/01/2006 21:46

buggy snuggle

Nemo1977 · 18/01/2006 21:48

marsy i love the marco sky too. dont think i ever thanked you for the recommendations. DS loves it and obviously dd is oblivious..lol

MarsOnLife · 18/01/2006 21:50

You're welcome nemo. If you have a buggy place near you, try and get it serviced once in a while. I do that with all of my buggies and it's stops any problems developing.

sweetkitty · 18/01/2006 21:50

oo I like those buggy snuggles too

I would need to have matching as I'm sad like that.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/01/2006 21:52

me too!!!

I liek the purple ones, but there was another site that had pink ones, but i cnat remember what it was now! Works out a bit cheaper than £90 for 2 plain m&p ones!

sweetkitty · 18/01/2006 21:53

Maybe have a wee look on ebay as well think if I buy anything else pink DP will leave me

roisin · 18/01/2006 21:54

When mine were tiny (crikey I feel old) there were no ro-ro buses, so you always had to fold up the buggy. I had one of those Maclaren umbrella fold double buggies, which I could just about fold up with one hand, whilst holding the baby, then carry on with one hand. (Ds1 - 22 months - had to fend for himself!) But it was a lot easier if someone offered to help! I used buses a LOT, so it didn't put me off.

A friend of mine had a bulkier buggy and she used to give the baby to the bus driver to hold whilst she folded the buggy and put it on the bus

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/01/2006 21:54

lol... i know that feeling! Im off into town tomorrow and he is DREADING me coming home, because he knows it will involve something for the girls!

champs · 19/01/2006 00:10

thanks all!!

i have the cossato duo lite at the mo, but it issoooo heavy and longer than i expected.

is the marco sky handles quite high? cant remember. the cossato hadles are way too low for me,

marsy - did it look like i was stooped over the marco? dont think i was...
