I would love to have a days loan of a marco sky to try it out but alas I am in Scotland. The twin aria is OK but such a pain when out shopping. I have been using sling and techno xt but would love a tandem for zooming around the shops.

DD1 seems to have overtaken most of the twin aria and she keeps putting her fingers in DD2's mouth and eyes Sad.

What if you were 5'4" and wore heels???

MarsLady · 10/03/2006 16:23

tried the Mothercare Hoxton buggy. Stopped a woman in the middle of Brent X to do so. Yuck!!!!!!!!! It's still very tandemmy, long rather than high. Not as long as an ordinary tandem. Not easy to manoeuvre, a bit heavy.

Short buggy. Personally... didn't like it.

I repeat......... love love love love love my Marco! Grin

Kelly1978 · 10/03/2006 16:31

I can't quite follow this thread but the cossatto is supposed to be shorter than the marco, I have one. It is very compact, but didn't like the lack of space or comfort very much. mine is on ebay, only used it twice. It is easy enough to maneuvere.

champs · 10/03/2006 18:11

lol marsy, can just imagine "i'm comandering your buggy for mn testing" did you flash your buggy expert badge?Wink

sweetkitty - that's another reason for me not getting a side by side, ds3 pulls ds2's hair as it is!!
that and the busses!!

kelly1978 - i had such high hopes for the cossato :( ..... dont say i told you so marsy!!

have you seen that buggy pod thing? have to search for it. I have phil and ted and mclaren rally. wouldn't ever take a double bug on a london bus, wld never get on.

Kelly1978 · 10/03/2006 20:26

why did you decide against it champs?

champs · 11/03/2006 00:07

manitz - seen the buggy pod, it looks interesting. only thing is how would ds2 sleep in it, and if i close it up , for bus, ds2 would have to sit somewhere.... like the idea tho. and i'd get to keep using my mclaren.

Kelly1978 - I have it. its too heavy, too low and the front wheels keep locking which makes ot hard to manouvre. ds2 & 3 love it tho.

OIC. I didn't find it too bad, and I'm 5'11. Unless you go for a three wheeler I think most doubles are hard to push. I have the jane powertwin (tandem three wheeler) which I love, but it is pricey. I think there are cheaper alternatives about now though. I managed that on buses and tubes no problems tho. My dts have started to dislike it now they are getting older tho. Sad

champs · 11/03/2006 14:16

how old ate your dts?

is the jane long or compact? did you have trouble getting down the aisle of bus? is it ok with the diff layouts and buggy "stops"

so many questions Blush

OP posts:
Kelly1978 · 11/03/2006 16:29

The jane is quite long, but as it is so easy to push and maneuvere it doens't feel it iykwim. It is fine on most buses. I've only ever once had a problem where a bus was packed and it was one with a left hand buggy bay and I couldn't fit the rear wheels through. They are quick release so I ended up removing one to get it through! It was an older bus, most of the newer ones are better. My dts are a year now. The seats are really roomey but dt1 isn't keen. He hates it in the back cos he can't see, and he hates it in the front and I don't know why! I've bought them a side by side pram now and they seem to like it much more.

Kelly1978 · 11/03/2006 16:30

drivers left hand that is.

champs · 11/03/2006 17:52

thanks!! IKWYM about the bay on some busses.

I think I need to drive....

oh the decisions!! will have a look at the jane and have a play in the shop. only thing is, ds2 gets so carried away when we try out buggies and he doesn't want to get out of them Grin

Kelly1978 · 11/03/2006 18:01

I passed last year and I sut admit it is far easier. I guess you live in London? The only thing with driving in London is it is very hard work. I find it totally diff to driving at home.

I think with the buggy you have to prioritise really. If you want compact it is going to be harder to push. Or you do what I did, and get what's easier to push and jsut grit your teeth when it comes to public transport! I found I had to be quite forceful. Grin

champs · 11/03/2006 18:30

Grin tell me about it!! you have to be so assertive on LT!!
people push infront of you to get on bus, even if you was first at stop. then they stand/ sit in buggy bay and dont want to move!!

yep live in london :) keep putting driving off, and also getting pg which stops me from learning!!

manitz · 11/03/2006 21:44

yeah, i wanted to try out the buggy pod to see if it was difficult to fold up but shope didn't have yet. depends how old your ds is. I think kelly1978 is right, whatever way it's a compromise. i already had two single buggies and the phil and ted but needed a cheap(ish) double that was easy to collapse for long nursery walk. annoying cos dd2 is now 3 and the walk was just too much to do quickly. tried the jane after buying the pandt and it's great, wld defo get for twins. ended up with maclaren rally.

~I used my maclaren quest/triumph and sling for buses. the buses near me are really packed and you ahve to let a couple go past even with a single. reckon you might be best to walk everywhere! and go for somethign easy to push.

champs · 11/03/2006 22:21

lol, could certainly do with excersize Wink

if i was choosing a side by side would get the rally, light and whizzy.

have you traveled on bus with p&t? is it wide?

OP posts:
MarsLady · 11/03/2006 23:23

told you so! rasppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

manitz · 12/03/2006 09:44

I haven't been on bus with it. it's not wide but lower wheels are a bit. also it wobbles as you put it up step. just looked at marcosky and it looks much better tbh. did you like it?

MarsLady · 12/03/2006 10:45

I love my marco sky. Fab on buses etc. Smile

champs · 12/03/2006 17:07
