Vauxhall Corsa recall

i have received a letter today (dated 13/1/12) saying my car is being recalled. This is due to a potential problem with the brake pedal bearings. Has anyone else had this? Looking around the net it appears this recall may have happened as long ago as September. They also want my car for half a day. Does the fix really take this long?

We've had the same recall, not had the letter yet but was advised by the dealership when the car went in for it's service in September. They didn't have the bits to fix it at the time so the recall can't be urgent.

Ouch mumofaurelia. Are you ok though? Cars can be replaced (though it is a bloody faff).

Poor you MumofAuriela- but if they are being recalled your accident may be connected.

Hey ScorpionQueen.. I have asked the insurance company to look into it. The police reports lists the accident as being caused by maintaining insufficient braking distance. I wasn't driving well and wasn't paying enough attention, the is true, but I couldn't stop at all once I realised what was going to happen... I've just been really dazed since, and wondering how it happened.

Thanks for this. Have received a letter but thought it was more junk from the dealership so it was sitting unopened!
