Codwollop's thread on running got me thinking abou this (reminded me to pack my sports bra...) What bras work for you? I am a 34AA (sadly true) and I don't have any bras that really fit. Half the time I just wear tanktops underneath my tops and sweaters. I've tried the pushup bras from M&S that have padding - but after a few washes the padded bit gets all indented and you can see this when I'm wearing a tighter than usual top ( all because I don't fill it out properly iyswim)
Now that I've written this all down I feel quite sad that I've started this thread. Am I to be shopping in the junior sections forever, or are there some nice pretty bras out there for me?? Help!!

just call her coddy like the rest of us hana!

used to be completely flat, didn't wear a bra until pg with dd, but didn't exercise either so wasn't a problem! have gone up a cup size with each child so am now a "C", very exciting!

princesspeahead · 13/11/2003 20:08

ie I'm no help at all, sorry

Why don't they fit? To big in the cup or the back? If I were you I would indulge in lovely lace stretch camisoles like the ones from Only Hearts that M&S have copied (in a sexym see-through mesh) or those teeny chiffon triangles in gorgeous colours from Calvin Klein that I'm far to big for but would love to wear. If you want an illusion of bigger curves those chicken fillet inserts work well. But I'd just play up the gamine Audrey Hepburn, Jane Birkin look.

If your bras don't fit then it is possible that you are wearing the wrong size. Have you had a proper fitting? I can thoroughly recommend M&S for this - they have funny devices which show if the straps are too loose/tight. It turned out I was wearing the wrong size anyway!

Hana, I have the same problem. All my bras come from M&S, all T-Shirts bras and some are so old I don't no how they're still going. I have spent my life trying to find a bra that fits well and makes me look like a women. My friends teenage girls have more than me. If only M&S could do a AAA padded we'd be delighted

hana · 13/11/2003 20:37

I think I'm too small for the cup that I have and can't go any smaller. I've been measured at M&S a few times, they've always been great. I love the camisole tops, will get more I think. But I don't always like my nipples sticking out, and with padded bras you can't always see them. and because dd breastfed for such a long time (what I thought was long, 15 months) they are a lot bigger than before! tmi, sorry!

Hi there, I'm new on here, finding it quite hard to find my way round the discussions, but hana- you and me too!
I'm a 32A or maybe AA!!
I know what you mean about the indents in padding!
I have found that there is a nice padded bra for everyday wear on the website Little Women.
For a prettier good bra, look at La Redoute.
I have a padded bra from there, it was expensive but fits great.

Northerner · 19/11/2003 10:16

Hi Dwyton & welcome!

I'm a 34A and have recently discovered gel bras from La Senza. I now have cleavage!

oliveoil · 19/11/2003 10:19

hana - I have the largest nips in the world, and spotted an interesting product in Boots the other day, nipple covers. Sort of like plasters that you stick on so they don't announce themselves to the world so to speak.

I always have to wear padded bras as otherwise I look like I have midget gems down there

I have walked past a building site and HEARD THEM BEING DISCUSSED. That was a long time ago however and I know where padded bras, much to dh annoyance as 'your boobs look wrong'. Nice.
