As parents we know the hell of head lice, and I found this comb to be the best, it even gets the eggs out. If you go to this page on the nitty gritty site you can print off the page and get a comb from your gp or chemist for free!!

Where does it say it's free ?

sparklymieow · 16/01/2006 17:08

You take the letter to the chemist or GP and they put it on a prescription, which is free for kids

FrannytheQuinoaEater · 16/01/2006 17:33

Print out the page and take it to the GP, they will give you a prescription to take to the chemist.

MarsOnLife · 16/01/2006 17:33

Ta. Just printed it. Am seeing my GP later this week, so that's perfect!

sparklymieow · 16/01/2006 17:34

I think it maybe like the Morning after pill, or drugs for drug addicts IYKWIM They prescribe them. It says on the page that prescribing pharmacist can prescibe them.

make sure the GP puts in a child's name and not yours, or you will have to pay

A word of warning - my GP refuses to prescribe Nitty Gritty combs because they are so expensive. He will only give out a prescription for the cheap plastic ones. I don't know how common this is, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

sparklymieow · 16/01/2006 17:36

also if you go to the main page about half way down on the left, if you put your postcode it will tell where you can get the combs from near you
