Do ipods from Apple come with chargers etc?

I've bought DH an ipod for his birthday this weekend and I got it from the Apple Store. The box ssems much smaller than the one my neighbour has. Having looked at the box it doesn't mention anything about a charger and my neighbour is convinced the Apple ones don't come with one. Think this is a bit off if when he opens it at the weekend he won't be able to do anything with it. The box is sealed in plastic so I don't really want to open it but need to know if I need to buy the charger or any other accessories. Has anyone got one from here and if so what does it come with? Many thanks

The ipod's usually come with a USB lead, and when plugged into the computer will charge that way. So as long as you have a USB port on the computer you will be OK.

Think mine came from the Apple store, and it had a charger for the USB port - the box is pretty much the same size as a CD box.

My ipod doesn't have a charger and I haven't bothered buying a seperate one. There is a USB cable that attaches to the computer - same one you use for uploading music onto it. Whilst the ipod is plugged intot hat and the computer is turned on, then it is also charging up.

I understand now. No problem then. Was starting to panic but thought it odd if you couldn't charge them at all. Never thought about doing it via the PC - should have twigged.

Thank-you.

Hausfrau - I was all set to do "I think Architecture is frozen music" as it was the only Architecture one I could find which would fit and all the others, though beautiful didn't quite say what I wanted them to say. Then just before I clicked "buy" I decided to run a search on "city regeneration" which is his thing and it took me to a Dr Who site which was a bit bizarre but he likes Dr Who - Then I found a quote " Dreams are important, never underestimate them" (Dr Who) which I thought was pretty cool and I felt the Dr Who connection sounded less pretentious than philosophers etc so I went with that.

The funny thing is that since then Dr Who has been constantly discussed in our house as DS (6) asked daddy why mummy was more clever than he was (bless him). Daddy replied it was because mummy had a PhD. DS asked what that was. Daddy said. It means mummy is a Dr. DD2, who is only 2 then pipped up "Exterminate, exterminate".

So quite apt really. Maybe fate is real!

Oh and the IPOD arrived the following day which I thought was pretty impressive for personalised ordering but haven't been able to look at it as its all sealed up. Very frustrating. Just terrified incase I made a typo or something. Will find out on Saturday

I have an iPod mini. I use the usb cable to charge it and I also have an in-car dock for it which charges too.

Sherbert37 · 16/01/2006 14:14

If it is a Nano you can charge through the PC but it may be worth spending £19 on a plug in one for travel and convenience. It is easier for my DS to use.

Actually just been checking my account and I've still not be charged for it. I thought these things were instant? (fingers crossed but doesn't quite beleive it). Wish they would hurry up and put it through.
