Hello there,
I have posted in Student Parents too but I need help quickly please.
Is there a way to get page numbers up on my kindle as they are in a book. I need to reference some quotes with page numbers but they are not there.
Any ideas?

Depending which kindle you have - I've got the £89 one Grin. If you press the second button from the right ie the one next to the square arrow thingy then it shows you the page number you're on at the bottom of the page. I've no idea why it only does it then, but that's the only way I've found so far to find out what page I'm on. As an example, I just called up the page on the book I'm on the moment, and it gives the info page 322 of 582, location 5354 of 9777. Hope that helps a bit?

Hello Duchess,
Not sure which button you mean. If I press the menu button I get the location (no idea what that is though,) but no page numbers. Somebody on Student Parents has linked to guidance for referencing from e readers so the panic is over but I would still like to be able to find page numbers if anyone can help.

What sort of kindle have you got? Is it one of

these?

If so, then if you have your book open that you are reading, then press the second button from the right ie the one you use to access the kindle store etc. Instead of looking down this list of options, look back at the bottom of the page of the book you are reading, and there should then be details of the percentage of the book you've read, together with the page number and location. It works on my kindle, but perhaps it doesn't on other types of kindles. Sorry I can't be any more helpful, I haven't had my kindle very long.

This works on my kindle (the kind with a keyboard) Just press the menu button and the page that you are on will show at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks for answering.
I have the kindle with the keyboard. If I press the menu button I get the % and the location, but the location doesn't match the page number you would be on if you were reading a real book. I don't know what the location does refer to tbh!

I don't think you get page numbers with every book, it depends on the publisher
