My iron is awful and takes ages to get creases out - In fact half the time the clothes don't look as if they have been ironed at all. Can anyone suggest a really good iron that makes the dull thing go quicker?!

This is my iron here and it is fantastic. I have been buying Polti after they were recommended by someone who took in ironing. I couldn't be bothered with an ordinary iron anymore, this one is great, much quicker and easier than an ordinary iron.

oooh yes, you need a steam generator iron, I've had my Tefal one for 5 years, it's brill.
The best budget buy in Good Housekeeping is the 'Domotec Steam Generator' - £80 or less.

Go for a tefal easy glide one.

IMO they really ARE the best and i will only di ironing with one.... They NEVER get a dirty sole plate (well havent in the 10 years ive regularly used 1) and do glide effortlessly.

They are SUPER

Also almost always on offer in Robert Dyas!

I agree that a steam generator is the way to go! We had a polti but that broke after about 14 mths and I was gutted. Then I found a remarkably similar one in Tchibo of all places which only cost £45! Have been using it happily for about 6 mths now, so worth watching out in case then have them again.
