I don't know the answer, but I wait with baited breath for some other replies - DH bought me a pair of GHD's (supposedly the best) for Christmas.
But my hair still looks crap and frizzy - so what am I doing wrong ?

I didn't know that I was supposed to put stuff on my hair ?

Enid · 11/01/2006 11:48

I dont straighten my hair but I do put a couple of drops of this

or
this

Bella23 · 11/01/2006 11:48

Serum's are supposed to be good but I have always found that they make my hair too soft and therefore prone to frizz!
Make sure your hair is totally dry before using GHD's. Always do a section at a time.
Afterwards I use brunette (the one designed for brunette hair - can't remember the make)smoothing cream. Just put a bit between your hands, rub together and then smooth over hair.
Works a treat on my frizzy main.

spacedonkey · 11/01/2006 11:49

I used to use GHDs, and put serum on after straightening. I think you need to make sure any product you put on before straightening works with the heat, otherwise it could make frizziness even worse. There seem to be lots of products on the shelves to use with straighteners now though, or get the GHD brand products?

eefs · 11/01/2006 11:58

shine spray works nicely on my fine hair - not too heavy

hotmama · 11/01/2006 11:59

I use GHDs - my hair is fine and prone to go a bit kinky IYKWIM. I use John Frieda frizzease for fine hair - I put it on before I dry my hair - works a treat!

mogwai · 11/01/2006 13:02

I use KMS silker spray first, then Paul Mitchell "Super Skinny" serum followed by Paul Mitchell "Super Scupt".

Finish off with Paul Mitchell "gloss drops" aand his shining spray afterwards, if I have time.

When I do my hair in exactly this sequence, it always draws comments on the style/condition/shine.

MrsBadger · 11/01/2006 13:24

The last time I had my hair cut they used this stuff before blow drying it and the effect was astonishing.
Am trying to steel myself to spend that much on a hair product but haven't managed it yet.
HQHair seems to be the place to look...

nailpolish · 11/01/2006 13:30

tigi

spacecadet · 11/01/2006 13:34

i put andrew collinge perfect endings on mine.

helpwithhols · 11/01/2006 14:30

I have very dry curly hair..i use ghd(fat ones) and spray some frizz ease finishing spray on afterwards. about£5.95 from boots, superdrug etc works a treat

have tried lots of more expensive things and this is the best(for my hair anyway)

MrsDoolittle · 11/01/2006 14:33

Use this and you'll never go back

Expensive though

crunchie · 11/01/2006 14:44

Yeah well curls are back girls

Only joking

Well actually I'm not, the new thing is cyrls which you can use your straighteners to create

NomDePlume · 11/01/2006 14:54

I use John Frieda Shine Shock Glosser on mine.

festiveface · 11/01/2006 14:56

so thats 2 recomendations for redken then

MrsDoolittle · 11/01/2006 15:17

I justify buying Redken because I am so lazy with my hair. I make sure it has a good cut, so I'm dead fussy about who cuts it and I use an expensive shampoo. Every time I dry it it falls into place and I use nothing else. There really is that much difference between using Redken against any others. It's so expensive that I am careful using it but I get lots of comments on the condition of my hair.

Beetrootfultoyourself · 11/01/2006 15:18

i use the aveda stuff...

Beetrootfultoyourself · 11/01/2006 15:19

if you are alloking for redine go to this place

Beetrootfultoyourself · 11/01/2006 15:19

puff · 11/01/2006 15:20

I love redken products - worth the money IMO, my hair has been so much better since using them

megandsoph · 11/01/2006 15:21

paul mitchell "gloss drops" I bought a tiny bottle about a year and half ago and the bottle is still half full. It is brilliant stuff!!

RachD · 14/01/2006 23:41

mrs Doolittle - you, like others recommend the redken range.
But which product, exactly, do you use ?
